Our room had two entries. The main door was opposite the parking area and the other door opened to the swimming pool area. The bedroom was clean, spacious, with a safe, a fridge and basic amenities. The bathroom was small but enough for two (shower, toilet and sink). We also had free WiFi. The owners, Michalis and his wife were welcoming and kind. The staff were accomodating and helpful. Although we didn't use the swimming pool, the other guests seemed to enjoy it a lot. The breakfast was good (eggs, orange juice, croissant, Greek yogurt (delicious), various jams, hot drinks, bred, fruits - a generous continental breakfast). We enjoyed spending time at the highly-rated Vlychada beach (Paralia Vlichada), which was about five minutes walk from the hotel. As a bonus, one of the highest-rated seafood restaurants is located three minutes away from the beach. If you're looking for a quiet hotel away from the nightlife noises, you will enjoy staying at Villa Michalis. However, you may need to hire a car for a day or two in order to explore parts of the island at your own pace and your own terms. We paid 60 euros + 20 euros insurance to hire a medium size car for a day. The cheapest option can cost about 55 euros (smaller car without extra insurance). Otherwise, you can catch a bus (inexpensive 1.7 euros to 2.5 euros, depending on your destination, but the buses have limited timetalbes, e.g. 3 buses a day to/from Fira, the capital). You can also hire a quad bike. Michalis, the hotel owner, can help with bookings (car, boat tour, etc.). We were pleased with our stay at Villa Michalis overall.

A fantastic little family run hotel with a restaurant on site with delicious traditional Greek food. Off the beaten track away from the hoards but close enough to catch the bus or drive to Thira for a more bustling atmosphere. The owners were on site and extremely helpful with suggestions on where to visit and organising a hire car to be delivered to us at the hotel. Stavros welcomed is with a drink when we arrived and was a star - always jolly and on hand when needed and seemed to work tirelessly from morning to night making sure everyone had everything they needed. I cannot recommend this little gem highly enough. We had a great time here and would definitely stay again.

Out of the beaten track. If you looking for a quite place even in August, this is the place. Far away from everything (crowds) but with everything you need around (small beach with great sea, restaurants and transports available) Fantastic pool and the family run business makes you really feel welcome! You need to embrace the spirit of being with genuine Greeks and locals and you will have an amazing time! Great food on the restaurant that's part of the Villa.

The hotel has everything needed for a relaxed and pleasant vacation; it’s close to the beach, port, and several restaurants. There is also a restaurant at the property. We had to leave early and informed the staff that we will skip the breakfast and leave keys in the room. Later in the day the owner himself came to great us and deliver croissants and juice for kids so they get a morning snack.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Michalis is a friendly host, who makes good breakfasts every morning. The rooms are cleaned every day. The pool is nice and spacious. Vlychada is a small port town, with a nice harbour restaurant, from where you can look at the day trippers coming back in the evening. It is good to rent a car or scooter to visit the neighbourhood.
